Effluent Treatment Plant
An effluent treatment plant (ETP) is a facility intended to clean industrial wastewater such that it satisfies environmental criteria before either disposal or use. ETPs eliminate contaminants including oils, grease, heavy metals, organic pollutants, and toxic compounds by means of a sequence of physical, chemical, and biological processes. Usually, the process of treatment consists in sedimentation, filtration, biological treatment, and chemical precipitation. ETPs help safeguard public health, prevent pollution of natural water bodies, and enable the recycling of treated water for different industrial uses by means of efficient treatment of effluents. Industries committed to environmental compliance and sustainable operations depend on ETPs.
